Welcome to Rome!

I hope to meet you!

Laura Weinstein is an Emmy-nominated, National Geographic-trained documentary film producer and teacher who earned a Masters of Art in Art History from John Cabot University in Rome and has been delighting in Rome’s every nook and cranny since her first visit in 1996.

A Baltimore native, Northwestern University grad and long-time Smithsonian Resident Associate,

Laura has been studying ancient history, religion, art history and archaeology since she was 7 years old.  Her Masters Thesis was on the connections between Ancient Rome (Pompeii to be precise!) and Ancient India. Her intense research and writing about the revolutionary Italian painter Caravaggio also

gives her a valuable anchor on the Renaissance, Mannerist and Baroque periods.

Laura knows Rome like the back of her hand and works with the best, fully licensed guides all over the country who share her approach. Whether you know a lot about history and art, or absolutely nothing, Laura and her team combine their exceptional storytelling skills and boundless enthusiasm to make the myriad sites of Italy even more enthralling and comprehensible than at first glance.  They will connect the dots of what you know, what you faintly heard of and what you never really understood.

Tours can be geared to all religious backgrounds and all ages.   If you are planning a trip to Italy, Roman Holiday Tours has you covered in most parts of the country including Rome, Florence & the rest of Tuscany, Venice, Pompeii & Naples, Assisi, Ravenna, Ferrara and more!  And no need to ask...of course we “skip the line.”  :-)

Laura on TV!

Aside from making documentaries for many years, I have lectured in Universities - in the US, Italy and India, for the Smithsonian Institution etc. I also conducted art and history classes on Zoom for 2 years during Covid. It definitely brought joy to me and others to forge that connection during such isolating times

2025 is a Jubliee Year!  Rome has spent millions

of dollars fixing up...everything!

If you are a Catholic, you will want to visit Saint Peter’s Basilica and the other famous pilgrimage churches. If instead you are not that religious, let us suggest places to get away from the crowds.
